Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- The barrage offices across the DPRK are pushing ahead with the work to minimize the damage caused by the disastrous abnormal weather.
The West Sea Barrage Office is making preparations for ensuring the safety of dam structures from tidal wave and typhoon, while making more than 500 horn-shaped concrete parts and installing them in the necessary sections.
The Mirim Barrage Office is taking measures to protect the downstream bed of lock dam, while investigating the technical state of floodgates and finding out and eliminating dangerous places.
After finishing the repair of a bridge, the Sunchon Barrage Office is making preparations for coping with flood at any time, while making a survey and observation of water management.
Similar successes are made at the Ponghwa and Songchon barrage offices. -0-
