Pyongyang, October 23 (KCNA) -- Following are major news items and articles in leading newspapers of the DPRK on Thursday:

- The respected Marshal Kim Jong Un received a letter of resolution from the members of the congratulatory group of Koreans in Japan for celebrating the 80th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea.

- Successes are being made in different units.

- Rice harvest was completed in more than 100 cities and counties and at over 1 700 farms across the country. The harvest results exceeded 90 percent.

- Agricultural workers at the Ponghae Vegetable Farm of Chongjin City, North Hamgyong Province moved into new houses.

- A meeting for awarding the University Student Scientific Research Prize took place.

- The 18th Pyongyang International Film Festival opened.

- A ceremony of remodelling the cemetery of fallen fighters of the Chinese People's Volunteers in Sinphyong County, North Hwanghae Province was held.

- Meetings were held to mark their 80th founding anniversaries of the Radio-Television Broadcasting Committee of the DPRK and the Central Information and Communications Centre.

- An article says that the light industrial goods exhibition "Development of Light Industry-2025" is going on, adding great pleasure and joy to the people.

- Sonyon (child) farm machines provided by schoolchildren in South Hamgyong Province were handed over to farms.

- The Russian youth friendship visiting group toured various places.

- Events for celebrating the 80th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea took place in the DPRK missions in foreign countries.
