Pyongyang, September 14 (KCNA) -- Sci-tech activities are being conducted in various forms and ways amid the display of the great spirit of creation of scientist and technicians.

Valuable papers were presented at the sci-tech presentations, exhibitions and symposiums held between Sep. 2 and 12 under the sponsorship of various associations and societies of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea.

A national sci-tech presentation and exhibition in the field of welding held at the Nampho Welding Rod Factory under the theme of "Development of Advanced Welding Technology and Localization of Welding Materials" highly appreciated the proposals made by the State Academy of Sciences, Kim Chaek University of Technology and the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex.

A national sci-tech presentation in the field of rare earth application technology served as an occasion of helping scientists and technicians display their creative initiative in exploring and mining rare earth minerals and realizing the domestic alloy production process.

The national sci-tech presentation in the field of mining industry held under the sponsorship of the Korean Mining Industry Association shared and transferred sci-tech successes and experience gained in increasing the production of non-metallic minerals and establishing a rational mining process, and gave a lecture on the world trend of development of mining and dressing technology.

Symposiums were also held to find realistic ways in solving the scientific and technological problems arising in developing and producing water-permeable color paving blocks and improving the shapes of Koryo medicines and the method of assessing their quality. -0-
