Scientific Research Brisk at Universities of DPRK

Pyongyang, October 12 (KCNA) -- Various universities in the DPRK have conducted scientific research activities to make a practical contribution to the economic development and improvement of the people's standard of living.

Teachers and researchers of Kim Chaek University of Technology perfected a measuring instrument enabling metal factories to raise the actual extraction rate of product, reduce the time of steelmaking and save electricity by bringing a scientific judgment to the temperature of tapping.

They also developed a new device capable of increasing the power production and ensuring the durability of turbine and manufactured a new-type auto nutrient supplier suited to the characteristic of vegetable greenhouse.

Teachers and researchers of Pyongyang University of Mechanical Engineering manufactured equipment capable of improving the technical characteristic of diesel engine and a Korean-style speed reducer and made progress in realizing the domestic production of hydraulic circuit necessary for hydraulic turbine speed regulator.

Pyongyang University of Architecture studied and introduced a new winding system capable of guaranteeing the safety of construction work by prolonging the life of driving device and raising the efficiency of brake.

Pyongyang Han Tok Su University of Light Industry developed a valuable technology conducive to realizing the mechanization of seed processing and established a production line of tanning additives based on locally available materials. -0-
