Successes Made at State Academy of Sciences

Pyongyang, October 6 (KCNA) -- The Physics Institute of the State Academy of Sciences in the DPRK has made successes in the research work for optimizing the operation of the oxygen heat blast furnace of the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex.

The researchers developed and introduced a system for comprehensively grasping the state of the furnaces and setting the needed amount of fuel and charges, thus saving a large amount of anthracite every day and reducing the sulfur content sharply so as to improve the quality and productivity of the molten iron.

Researchers at the institute are putting spurs to improving the practicality of the system and introducing it on a wide scale. -0-
