Pyongyang, August 10 (KCNA) -- Pyongyang Municipality is making achievements by simultaneously pushing ahead with the improvement of the quality of building materials necessary for the rural housing construction and the readjustment and reinforcement of the production foundation.

Rangnang District, which benefits from the establishment of the foundation for the production of finishing building materials in its construction brigade, is improving the quality of building materials by enhancing the role of technicians and skilled workers and making achievements in additionally establishing the production processes of new building materials and turning them into manpower-saving ones.

Kangnam County is pushing ahead with the work to update production equipment and develop new products capable of preserving the features of the area and Ryokpho District is directing efforts to remodeling the production environment of building materials production bases and improving the quality indices of light burned magnesia building materials.

Building materials production bases in Sunan and Hyongjesan districts have reinforced the overall production bases, improved the quality of coating materials, tiles and pavement blocks and pushed ahead with the work to lower the cost of production.

Mangyongdae, Sadong, Samsok and Taesong districts and Kangdong County are also paying attention to accelerating the technical upgrading of equipment, increasing the existing production capacity and diversifying building materials. -0-
