Projects for Regional Economic Development Propelled in DPRK

Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- Jagang and South Hwanghae provinces in the DPRK are pushing ahead with projects directly related to the regional economic development and improvement of the people's living standard.

Jagang Province set the goal of building and rebuilding dozens of projects this year and is striving to carry it out.

Builders in Kanggye City are putting spurs to the construction to finish rebuilding and modernizing the Kanggye Tannery in a qualitative way.

The construction of a zoo conducive to the cultural and emotional life of the people is being stepped up at the final stage.

Builders of the provincial rural economy committee are rebuilding the Kanggye Dairy Cattle Farm and workers of the Hungju Chicken Farm and the Kanggye Building-Materials Factory are stepping up the construction of black swan and ostrich aviaries and the reconstruction of the factory at the final stage.

South Hwanghae Province constructed industrial buildings, including the Hwangnam Steel Plant and the Haeju Brick Factory, and hundreds of rural dwelling houses.

Building-materials production bases are now being built in the province and major factories including the Haeju Paper Factory and the Haeju Farm Machine Factory are being renovated.

The construction of a purification plant and pumping station is being pushed forward to more satisfactorily supply domestic water to the residential households in Haeju City. -0-
