Pyongyang, November 24 (KCNA) -- At a dynamic time when a series of remarkable successes and changes are being made which clearly demonstrate the reality of the period of the comprehensive development of socialism, Kangwon Province of the DPRK has built solid power bases that will greatly contribute to the regional development and the improvement of the people's standard of living.

Rodong Sinmun says in an editorial on Monday that the fighting spirit, traits and mettle of the people in Kangwon Province are a thoroughgoing embodiment of the Workers' Party of Korea's idea of self-respect and self-sustenance, the spirit of the DPRK advancing bravely toward the realization of the far-reaching ideal and goal and a clear manifestation of the indomitable disposition and toughness peculiar to the Korean people.

The core of the spirit of Kangwon Province is the viewpoint that the Party's policies should be carried out unconditionally and the stand that no one else can implement the Party's policies instead of those who are directly responsible for carrying through them and that one should open up the road ahead by oneself, the editorial says, and continues:

The spirit of Kangwon Province reflects the spirit of overcoming challenges and creating a history of changes, and the disposition and mettle that one does to the last unconditionally what one is determined to do.

Our Party highly values the success of building powerful power bases in the face of difficulties and puts forward before anything else the fighting spirit of the people in Kangwon Province who made strenuous efforts to prove the validity and vitality of the Party's policies.

The spirit of Kangwon Province is full of the ardent love for the future with which to make devoted efforts to lay the foundations for prosperity of all ages, taking the pleasure in overcoming the hardships of the times.

The creators of the spirit of Kangwon Province clearly proved the validity and vitality of the Party's line and policies of achieving prosperity by dint of self-reliance at a time when new realms and spheres of development and civilization are being opened up and steadily expanded in all the sectors of socialist construction.
