Many Schoolchildren in DPRK Take Part in Expedition of 250-mile Journey

Pyongyang, January 22 (KCNA) -- All the schoolchildren in the DPRK are celebrating the centenary of the 250-mile Journey for National Liberation made by President Kim Il Sung and the 50th anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il's first expedition along this route.

The schoolchildren's march to trace the course of the 250-mile Journey is that of loyalty and succession of the proud rising generations of Kim Il Sung's and Kim Jong Il's Korea to firmly prepare themselves as the genuine pillars shouldering the future of the powerful socialist country and as the reserves for building communism, cherishing deep in their mind the noble intention of the peerlessly great men recorded in the immortal history of the Juche revolution.

The vigorous march of successors with the red soul of the revolution has been steadily continued through centuries, and more than one million schoolchildren have participated in the march for the past 50 years.

The President single-handedly made a 250-mile journey for national liberation in his teens, with a firm pledge not to return home again before he retook the country from the Japanese imperialists. The journey was a sacred course of patriotism as it opened up a new era of the revolutionary cause of Juche.

In January 1975, the Chairman saw to it that the expedition of the 250-mile Journey for National Liberation was significantly organized on a nationwide scale and made it a tradition to provide a turning point for training the rising generations into dependable reserves and backbone of the revolution and make the schoolchildren's footsteps of loyalty resound far and wide in the country.

The respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un, who set it as an important issue to prepare the younger generation as true successors firmly believing in and following the Workers' Party of Korea only, made the schoolchildren invariably march the 250-mile journey of the revolution.

The ranks of successors are steadily flowing into the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu, along not only the route of the 250-mile Journey but also the course of horseback march made by the Marshal. -0-
