Scientific Researches Brisk in Agricultural Field

Pyongyang, December 29 (KCNA) -- Officials and researchers of the Academy of Agricultural Science in the DPRK made contributions to increasing the grain production this year through pursuit campaign for creation.

The academy worked out plans for increasing grain production, such as technical guidelines and reference materials classified according to each region, season and process, to cope with disastrous abnormal weather, and disseminated them through the state data network.

It introduced a new high-yield cultivation technology and nutrition management technology of wheat. Officials and researchers made a contribution to boosting the yield of paddy rice and effectiveness of fertilizer by resolving technical problems arising in the production of multi-nutrients for rice seedlings and slow-action granulated fertilizer.

The Rice Research Institute and the sci-tech learning center introduced low-cost and profitable cold-bed rice seedlings into many paddy fields.

The dry-field crop research institute and the maize research institute have bred fast-growing varieties with high yield per hectare and strong resistance to diseases.

The agro-chemicalization institute and the agrobiology institute developed and introduced various kinds of fertilizer, seed-covering materials and other labor- and cost-saving agro-technical products. -0-
