Pyongyang, February 15 (KCNA) -- Women's union officials and members in the DPRK met at the Hall of Women here on February 14 to celebrate the 83rd birth anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il.

Present there were Han Kwang Ho, vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Hong Chol Jin, secretary of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the WPK, officials of the Central Committee of the Socialist Women's Union of Korea and women's union officials and members in Pyongyang.

Jon Hyang Sun, chairwoman of the SWUK Central Committee, made a report at the meeting to be followed by speeches.

The reporter and speakers said that the birth of Chairman Kim Jong Il was a historic event promising the great fortune of the nation and the rosy future of Korea and that the great fortune of significant February brought the powerful DPRK.

They noted that with his high ambition to demonstrate Juche Korea to the whole world, Kim Jong Il provided an eternal foundation for the prosperity of powerful Korea and led the revolutionary cause of Juche to victory through his distinguished ideo-theoretical activities and energetic guidance.

The stressed that the development course of the Juche-based women's movement is associated with the meticulous guidance of Kim Jong Il and that the Korean women are leading a dignified life as the helpers of the Party and communist mothers under the leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, another prominent great man.

They expressed their determination to glorify for all ages the noble revolutionary career and immortal exploits of Kim Jong Il and fully display the revolutionary stamina and patriotic devotion of the Korean women in the worthwhile struggle for prosperity and happiness of the large socialist family, true to the leadership of Kim Jong Un. -0-
