International Day of Persons with Disabilities Marked in DPRK

Pyongyang, December 4 (KCNA) -- A meeting took place at the Central Youth Hall in the DPRK on Dec. 3 to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

Present there were Jon Chol Hi, chairman of the Central Committee of the Korean Federation for the Protection of the Disabled, officials concerned, disabled persons and their families and working people in Pyongyang.

First, donation certificates were awarded to those who actively support persons with disabilities, and a video dealing with the successes made in ensuring the rights of the disabled this year was shown.

Then, an art performance was given by the Korean Art Association of the Disabled to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

The performers represented their cheerfulness and vigor of bringing their hopes and talents into full bloom under the loving care and benevolence of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Prior to the meeting, the participants looked round photos showing the life of the disabled who lead a happy life under the most advantageous socialist system of the country. -0-
