Achievements Made in Raising Qualities of University Teachers

Pyongyang, March 12 (KCNA) -- The Central Retraining Institute in the DPRK is conducting an in-service training course to ensure the implementation of the policies of the Workers' Party of Korea in a pedagogical way.

Officials of the institute have made innovations in the contents and methods of the course with the main emphasis on ensuring that teachers and researchers of universities fulfill their responsibility and role in education and scientific researches.

They have attached importance to the course to pedagogically and scientifically and technologically support the implementation of the Party's new policy on regional development and increased its effectiveness.

After supplementing in the course such subjects as the design of foodstuff production line, the design of packing line and the design of industrial architecture, the institute has concentrated efforts on solving the problems helpful to the construction and operation of regional-industry factories.

During the course, it has organized visits to various units in Pyongyang to help share the successes and experience of advanced units and broaden the insight of teachers and researchers.

Meanwhile, the institute is pushing ahead with the work to ensure that teachers have qualifications for teaching specialized subjects in foreign languages.

It also directs efforts to improving the qualifications of lecturers of regional in-service training units through the courses on multimedia and virtual reality technical subjects, educational evaluation science, educational control science and educational target classification subject. -0-
