Pyongyang, December 13 (KCNA) -- The Sonbong Thermal Power Plant in the DPRK made successes in the advance toward the Ninth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea.

The team of technicians of the power plant, together with workers, finished overhauling hundreds of equipment.

It introduced a digital excitation control system and built an integrated production system capable of ensuring the accuracy of the overall production lines and reliability of their operation.

After readjusting and reinforcing all processes, the power plant successfully conducted trial operation on the basis of confirming the technical indices to suit its specific conditions ranging from water filtration and coal transport to electricity production.

Officials of the Party and power organs and those concerned in Rason Municipality encouraged the workers who went into electricity production, going round the Sonbong Thermal Power Plant. -0-
