Pyongyang, October 31 (KCNA) -- The 19th National Machine Design Festival closed in the DPRK.

At the festival the designs of machineries, equipment and processes and products presented by Kim Chaek University of Technology, Pyongyang University of Mechanical Engineering, the State Academy of Sciences were favored by visitors as they are capable of making a substantial contribution to vitalizing the production and strengthening the material and technological foundation in major sectors of the national economy and at regional-industry factories.

During the festival, advanced technologies and experience were disseminated and generalized through exhibition of machine designs, multi-dimensional design contest, prize contest and question-and-answer session.

A closing ceremony of the festival took place at the Okryu Exhibition House on October 30.

Present there were Jon Sung Guk, vice-premier of the Cabinet, officials concerned and officials and working people of the exhibited units.

Pennants and trophies were awarded to the excellent units and participants. -0-
