Young People in DPRK Volunteer for Major Economic Sectors

Pyongyang, January 16 (KCNA) -- Young people in South Hamgyong Province of the DPRK volunteered for major theaters of socialist construction.

Those in Sinpho City advanced into the Sinpho City Offshore Farm, out of the mind to uphold the noble intention of the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un, who is ushering in a new era of regional rejuvenation, with the praiseworthy successes in the seafood production.

Youth league members in the cities of Hamhung and Tanchon and the counties of Sinhung, Pukchong and Yonggwang petitioned to work at raw material bases of regional-industry factories, coal mines and construction brigades.

Those in the counties of Hamju, Riwon and Pujon volunteered for stockbreeding bases and road administration.

A ceremony for congratulating those who volunteered for difficult and labour-consuming sectors of socialist construction was held in the city of Hamhung on Jan. 15.

Present there were Ri Jong Nam, chief secretary of the South Hamgyong Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials of the youth league and young people. At the ceremony, volunteer certificates were conferred and a congratulatory speech and vowing speeches made.

Officials and young people presented bouquets to the volunteers and gave them a warm send-off. -0-
