Pyongyang, June 17 (KCNA) -- The Koryo medicine production units in Ryanggang Province of the DPRK are directing efforts to strengthening their material and technical foundations.

The provincial Koryo medicine production management bureau ensures that the factories improve the performance of equipment and introduce advanced manufacturing methods in keeping with the increasing demand of the people for Koryo medicines.

The Koryo medicine producers in Unhung County have newly manufactured extractive concentrators and remodeled the production lines to meet the standard of production and quality control of medicines, thus putting the production lines on a germ-free and dust-free basis of higher level.

The Samjiyon City Koryo Medicine Pharmaceutical Factory is making achievements in the production of popular and officinal medicines, including Samhyang Uhwangchongsimhwan.

Officials and working people of Kapsan County are concentrating efforts on acclimatizing and widely spreading medicinal herbs with good therapeutic effect and medicinal herb producers of Paegam County are directing efforts to increasing the variety and output of medicinal herbs, including rhubarb and astragalus.

The Koryo medicine production units in Hyesan City, Kim Jong Suk County and Samsu County are ensuring the quality of goods while conducting the sorting, washing, cutting, drying and milling. -0-
