Pyongyang, May 8 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Thursday in an editorial says that in order to attain this year's goal of grain production, it is necessary to open up a sure prospect for its success from rice-transplanting and mobilize all forces and means for it.

Agriculture is the great foundation of the country, the editorial says, and goes on:

Rice transplanting is an important farming process that we should not let a time get away and decides the destiny of a year's farming. Only when enormous task of rice transplanting, which should be carried out in a short span of time, is conducted in the right season and in a qualitative way, can the farming processes including cultivation and tending be successfully carried out in time and the goal of grain production set forth by the Workers' Party of Korea be confidently attained.

Thanks to the wise leadership of the great Party Central Committee, remarkable successes that can not be compared with the preceding period have been made in agricultural production one after another in recent years.

The country's structure of grain production has markedly changed, the positive introduction of scientific farming methods was brought about gratifying bumper crops last year and the number of high-yield units and bumper croppers has rapidly increased.

The editorial calls for successfully winding up rice transplanting, important process in a year's farming with extraordinary preparedness and will, and strenuous efforts, and reaping a bumper crop this year again, thus confidently entering into the course of development of the next stage toward attainment of a new goal. -0-
