Pyongyang, October 17 (KCNA) -- The Educational Books Publishing House of the DPRK is writing new textbooks for the programme of the second universal 12-year compulsory education.

Officials of the Ministry of Education and the publishing house are writing textbooks under a plan for ensuring the scientific accuracy and pedagogical effectiveness of the contents of textbooks and improving the form of textbooks so as to educate students at the world's advanced level.

Journalists and editors are writing textbooks to put them on Party policy-oriented, theoretical and plain basis of a higher level and ensure their political and ideological character and have students acquire the contents of education.

They are reflecting in textbooks the issues linked with practice so that students have a theoretical understanding of the contents of education and writing textbooks of basic technical subjects so that they acquire more than one technical skill.

They are writing reference books to help teachers master the purpose and contents of teaching and conduct lessons at a high level. -0-
