Pyongyang, August 12 (KCNA) -- Pak Thae Song, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, made a field survey of the construction of the Samjiyon Tourist Resort and major enterprises in the city of Hamhung.

Going round construction projects of the tourist resort, the premier gave a pep talk to the builders who are making devoted efforts to translate the noble plan of the Party Central Committee into brilliant reality.

He stressed the need to make the best and effective use of the good construction time in keeping with the features of the area with high snowfall and low temperature in order to step up the projects. He also called for enhancing the responsibility and role of the designers, construction officials and supervisors, increasing the operation rate of the construction equipment, and taking more scrupulous measures for supplying manpower, equipment and materials.

At the Ryongsong Machine Complex, the premier acquainted himself with its modernization project and production, and underlined the need to more dynamically plan and command the project and at the same time press ahead with the production of various kinds of compressors to steadily demonstrate the honor of the complex as a model of self-reliance and a powerful enterprise.

The premier underscored the need for the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex to give fuller play to the spirit of the workers advancing to implement the decisions of the plenary meetings of the Party Central Committee so as to put the production of fertilizer on normal track, expand the variety of melamine resin products and speed up the construction of the line for producing slow effective granule urea fertilizer and of the base for producing catalysts.

Earlier, the premier visited the State Academy of Sciences and the State Commission of Science and Technology, where he called on the scientific circle to turn out as one to reliably ensure the successful implementation of the five-year plan with remarkable sci-tech successes and to vigorously lead the development of the national economy, true to the intention of the Party.

The field consultative meetings discussed the issue of giving top priority to the supply of materials for the construction of the Samjiyon Tourist Resort, the issue of finishing the modernization project at the Ryongsong Machine Complex by the appointed time and the issue of giving precedence to the supply of coal needed for the production of fertilizer. -0-
