Pyongyang, February 25 (KCNA) -- The 39th Science and Technology Festival of Kim Chaek University of Technology opened in the DPRK.

The festival's theme is "Steady increase in scientific and technological capability". On display are more than 260 scientific research achievements conducive to economic construction and the improvement of the people's standard of living, such as the robotization and streamlining of precision mold production process and the establishment of active quicklime production line.

The festival will be held, divided into seven panels, including metallurgical, chemical, machine-building and transport panels, and scientific and technological proposals will be announced and examined, alongside the exchange of technology among visitors. Cups, certificates and prizes will be conferred on the highly appreciated units and their members.

An opening ceremony was held at Kim Chaek University of Technology on February 24.

Present there were officials, teachers, researchers and postgraduate students of the university. -0-
