Ryongmun Cavern in DPRK

Pyongyang, October 1 (KCNA) -- At the foot of Mt Ryongmun in Kujang County, North Phyongan Province of the DPRK, there is the Ryongmun Cavern known as the underground scenery unparalleled in the world.

The entrance of the cavern is about 302 meters above sea level and it is surrounded by thick forests.

The section of the cavern is not long but has graceful and splendid karst objects.

Two streams of white falls resembling Isonnam Falls of Mt Myohyang drop from rock walls of various colors, and there are on the ceiling a "dolphin" running up to the sky with a joy after seeing the rare Ryongmun Carven and a "squid" drawing the interest of visitors while hanging its legs long.

The Phungnyon Tower at the Phungnyon Village bringing the feeling of rich harvest is a stalagmite like grain stack. In front of the tower are a "female farmer" taking an ear of corn in her hand and stalagmites such as ears of millets and kaoliangs hanging under eaves.

The scenery of the Sokhwa Village representing the snow scene, ornamented with white frost flowers, is also arousing the administration of all people.

There are in the Ansim Cave a "seagull' of Mt Chilbo, a famous mountain in the East Sea, that is unable to leave for the ecstasy and a "peacock" seen as if it folds its beautiful wings.

The Ryongyon Cave where "ever-agarics" grow delicious-looking and the Jangsok Village where long and wide rocks layer like visors add beauty to the mysterious Ryongmun Carven.

The Ryongmun Cavern with the fantastic scenery has been spruced up under the care of the Workers' Party of Korea, contributing to the cultural and emotional life of the people. -0-
