Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) -- Kangwon Province of the DPRK is concentrating efforts on the work to tap and use its source of raw materials.

The province has taken measures to make the comprehensive use of the raw material bases dispersed in it by arranging them to be favorable to cultivation and thus raise the level of putting on an intensive basis the production of raw materials necessary for the operation of regional-industry factories.

Officials and working people in Munchon City and Chonnae and Thongchon counties created hundreds of hectares of arable land.

Raw material bases in Kosan County are taking agro-technical measures to minimize the damage caused by disastrous abnormal weather such as typhoon and flood and prevent decrease in the crop yield.

Working people in Kumgang and Anbyon counties secured more than 390 hectares and 170 hectares of Evodia daniellii Benn forests.

Popdong and Sepho counties are substantially creating forests of raw materials and manuring and tending them. -0-
