Pyongyang, November 6 (KCNA) -- Mines and enterprises under the General Bureau of the Tanchon Area Mining Industry of the DPRK are increasing production.

Members of the Ri Song Il-led Tunneling Work-team of Young Ex-servicemen of the April 5 Pit at the Kumgol Mine under the Komdok Mining Complex fulfilled assignments equivalent to two-year national economic plans before others and are introducing valuable technical innovation plans.

After fulfilling the yearly plans by twice by raising the blasting efficiency according to rock conditions, the Ko Kyong Chan-led Hero Work-team of the April 5 Pit, the Pak Thae Son-led Hero Work-team of the Yonggwang Pit and other work-teams are concentrating their efforts and means on the cutting faces where high grade ores are deposited.

The Ryongchon Mine is putting spurs to the drive for increased production after carrying out its annual mineral production ahead of schedule, and the Taehung Youth Hero Mine increased the operation rate of mining equipment by more than 1.3 times, thus considerably increasing its output.

Ryongyang and Paekbawi mines are steadily boosting the mineral production by securing equipment parts and materials in a far-sighted way.

The Tanchon Smeltery is intensifying the technological innovation movement to increase the production of sulfuric acid and make innovations in zinc production.

Similar successes are being made at the Tanchon Magnesia Factory and the Songjin Fireproof Material Factory. -0-
