Pyongyang, September 27 (KCNA) -- Fifty-five years have passed since the Mansudae Art Troupe was organized.

The art troupe, named by President Kim Il Sung and organized by Chairman Kim Jong Il on September 27, Juche 58 (1969), is the firstborn and model art troupe of the DPRK.

After taking its first step under the meticulous guidance of Kim Jong Il, it has created hymns of praising leaders and national masterpieces, full of the breathing of the times, that are loved by the people through its revolutionary artistic activities over the past fifty-odd years, thus enriching the treasure house of the Juche-oriented art.

Many pieces created by creators and artistes of the art troupe including songs "Long Life and Good Health to the Leader" and "We Will Remain Faithful to the President Generation after Generation" and dance "Azaleas of the Homeland" and music and dance story "Song of Paradise" were recorded in the history of the DPRK as monumental masterpieces.

Creators and artistes have successfully adapted immortal classics and songs created during the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle as revolutionary operas, chorus and female instrumental ensemble, thus opening up a new phase of the Juche-oriented art.

They have conducted artistic activities of various forms in ebullient worksites and construction sites in the annals of the revolution to boost the masses' enthusiasm for the revolution and struggle and also demonstrated the art of the DPRK developing under the leadership of the Party in different countries.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said that the Mansudae Art Troupe is a prestigious art troupe personally organized and developed by Kim Jong Il into a model of the Juche-oriented art.

He has led the creators and artistes of the younger generation to carry forward the revolutionary and forward-looking creative trait of the preceding generation that created the Mansudae spirit.

Over the past fifty-odd years, many winners of the Party and state commendations, titles of honor, February 16 Art Prize and international concours have been produced among creators and artistes of the art troupe. -0-
