Pyongyang, November 20 (KCNA) -- Officials and working people in the agricultural sector of the DPRK are directing efforts to cultivating winter wheat and barley to reap a rich harvest in the first crop farming next year again.

Cutting leaf and covering soil were conducted in Sariwon City and Yonthan and Pongsan counties of North Hwanghae Province to prevent wheat and barley from growing in vain or freezing to death.

Agricultural workers in Waudo and Kangso districts and Onchon County of Nampho Municipality have applied farming methods to correctly fix the amount of phytosin and other solutions per phyong according to the characteristics of species and fields.

Tokchon and Kaechon cities and Jungsan County of South Phyongan Province ensured the number of plants per phyong and covered seeds with soil in a responsible manner to prevent the crops planted in the paddy fields from damage by moisture.

Officials and agricultural workers in North Phyongan and South Hamgyong provinces are directing efforts to ensuring the growth indices and preparing grain straws for keeping wheat and barley warm. -0-
