Pyongyang, January 15 (KCNA) -- Today marks the 98th anniversary of the founding of the newspaper Saenal (New Day), the first revolutionary publication in Korea.
President
The first revolutionary newspaper was issued on Jan. 15, 1928 thanks to the efforts and energetic guidance of the President who named the newspaper "Saenal" and devoted himself to the publication of the newspaper, personally writing important editorials and articles to be edited in the first number of the newspaper.
This opened up the historical origin of our revolutionary publications.
The newspaper Saenal, the organ of the then Saenal Children's Union, was a good means of linking the leader of the revolution with revolutionary organizations and the masses as a powerful educator, excellent propagandist and reliable organizer of the masses.
The newspaper was widely distributed to contribute to awakening the public politically.
The revolutionary publications Samil Wolgan, Sogwang and Jongsori were founded afterwards. They also contributed to kindling the flames of struggle in the hearts of the people and accomplishing the historic cause of national liberation (August 15, 1945). -0-
