Pyongyang, November 13 (KCNA) -- According to Rodong Sinmun, the State Academy of Sciences developed the technologies for producing reduced iron and synthetic fuel based on coal gasification.

It serves as another valuable sci-tech guarantee of strengthening the independence of economy and developing the country's economic infrastructure.

Objectively proved at the national sci-tech examinations held in September and October were the advantages of the above-said technologies and their technical and economic effectiveness.

The State Commission of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry, the Ministry of Chemical Industry and other relevant sectors unanimously appreciated that the newly developed technologies can contribute to solving the steel and fuel problems by relying on our technology and resources.

The State Academy of Sciences is now stepping up technical preparations for introducing the above-said technologies into the sectors of metallurgical and chemical industries. -0-
