Spring Silkworm-raising Brisk in DPRK

Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- Spring silkworm-raising has been brisk in different parts of the DPRK.

The cocoon producers in South Hwanghae Province are making efforts to attain this year's goal, conducting all the undertakings in line with technical requirements.

Nampho Municipality makes sure that all the sericulture stations introduce a method of breeding silkworms in early spring capable of ensuring the stability and quantitative growth of cocoon production. It has pushed ahead with the introduction of rare earth additives effective in saving silkworm fodders and strengthening the resistance to disease as well as thinning harvest technology for the increased production of mulberry leaves.

Sericulture stations in Pyongyang have introduced the advanced silkworm-raising technology. They have made innovations in the method of raising young silkworms so as to increase the output of cocoons and ensure their quality at a high level.

Officials and working people in the field of sericulture in South Phyongan Province are increasing the productivity of mulberry leaves by spraying efficacious nutrient solution.

Cocoon production units in North Phyongan Province and other parts of the country have made all efforts to raise the spring silkworms by conducting nutrition care and disinfection for young silkworms in a responsible manner. -0-
