Pyongyang, January 24 (KCNA) -- Organizations of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea (UAWK) across the country have made successes in the work to improve the fertility of soil through a mass movement.

The UAWK organizations in South Hwanghae Province launched a socialist emulation from the outset of the new year to produce much more self-sufficing manure.

Those in South Hamgyong Province, on the basis of scientific determination of the amount of needed self-sufficing manure according to the data collected through the analysis of all fields, carried plentiful high-quality manure even to the corner fields, thus making progress in improving hundreds of hectares of low-yielding fields.

UAWK members in North Phyongan Province, too, are applying lots of manure to sloping fields while securing and producing the materials for huminite and organic compound fertilizer through a mass movement.

Amid the growing revolutionary enthusiasm of agricultural workers out in the preparations for the new year's farming due to field agitprop activities of officials of the Kangwon Provincial Committee of the UAWK, farms in Wonsan City, Kumgang County and other areas of Kangwon Province have carried out the production of self-sufficing manure ahead of schedule every day.

Similar successes have been made by UAWK members in North Hwanghae Province, South Phyongan Province and Kaesong Municipality. -0-
