Pyongyang, September 12 (KCNA) -- Rice harvesting began in rural areas of the DPRK.

Officials, working people and helpers in the agricultural field turned out in the rice harvest with a resolve to successfully conclude this year's farming.

Officials of the Agricultural Commission and agricultural guidance organs at all levels are conducting operations and command to finish harvesting at an early date.

Anak, Sinchon and Paechon counties of South Hwanghae Province set the proper harvest time, taking into account the earing period and the moisture content of grain.

Farms in North Hwanghae Province have worked out a plan for rice harvesting on the basis of a detailed survey into every field, characteristics of species of crops and working conditions, and concentrated all manpower and machinery on harvesting.

Similar successes are witnessed at Jongphyong, Kowon and Kumya counties of South Hamgyong Province and Pyongyang and Kaesong municipalities. -0-
