Successes Made in Sci-tech Field

Pyongyang, June 16 (KCNA) -- The sci-tech field of the DPRK puts spurs to carrying out the major state projects for the development of science and technology which are of weighty significance in dynamically propelling the national development.

All the projects for this year have been pushed forward as scheduled in May and June.

The Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex, in cooperation with Kim Chaek University of Technology, is striving to improve the technical and economic indices of energy-saving oxygen heat blast furnace.

The project for breeding superior wheat and maize varieties and introducing cultivation technology is also being pushed ahead and a guarantee is provided for overfulfilling the goal.

Similar successes are made by the Academy of Agricultural Science, the Academy of Forest Science, the State Academy of Sciences, Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology, the Kim Jong Thae Electric Locomotive Complex and the Hamhung Chemical Designing Institute. -0- (Juche113.6.16.)
