Pyongyang, March 16 (KCNA) -- The election of deputies to the 15th Supreme People's Assembly took place in the DPRK.
All the people and service personnel of the People's Army took part in the election held amid the grand struggle for attaining the new long-term goals set forth by the Ninth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea, out of their mind to consolidate the Korean-style socialist system centered on the popular masses, the cradle of life and home of happiness.
The election was attended by revolutionary forerunners including the war veterans, victors of the great years who have defended the dignity and sovereignty of the DPRK with their ardent patriotism and through heroic struggle decade after decade from the first days of the national liberation.
The officials and employees of the Sangwon Cement Complex voted for the candidate displaying patriotic devotion to the prosperity of the country, saying that the DPRK, our government, is the genuine country and government of the people.
All parts of the country including the leading grand metallurgical bases and coalfields and large power bases in South Phyongan Province were filled with the revolutionary enthusiasm of workers for electing representatives of the people.
Those at the Chongsan Farm in Kangso District and the Samjigang Farm in Jaeryong County and all other agricultural workers across the country expressed their determination to devote patriotic sweat and passion to every farm field by carrying forward the soul of the farmers of the preceding generation.
Officials and working people in the fields of education and public health, including Kim Chaek University of Technology, Pyongyang Baby Home and Okryu Children's Hospital voted in the election with the revolutionary enthusiasm to give full play to the advantages of the socialist education system and the people-oriented public health system in the DPRK.
Jon Yong Suk, secretary general of the Sub-constituency Election Committee No. 37 of the Constituency No. 567 for the election of deputies to the SPA, said that the advantages and democratic character of the election system of the DPRK were clearly demonstrated through the election.
Ryang Il, department director of the North Hwanghae Provincial Communication Management Bureau, and Kim Ju Song, crew leader of a furnace of the blast furnace workshop No. 1 at the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex, candidates for deputies, pledged to work devotedly for achieving the prosperity and development of the country and strengthening the people's power, always keeping in mind the trust and expectation of the masses. -0-
