Pyongyang, January 18 (KCNA) -- The young people all over the DPRK significantly celebrated the 80th founding anniversary of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, a Juche-oriented youth organization, out of the mind to repay the benevolence of the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un with loyalty and redoubled patriotic efforts. The fatherly Marshal arranged a large-scale gathering of youths in celebration of the anniversary of the SPYL as the first national-level event for this year, and attended it to congratulate and encourage the young people.

On the occasion of the anniversary, people visited the Youth Movement Museum, which houses materials and mementoes associated with the peerlessly great men's immortal history of valuing the youth. They looked round the exhibits showing the revolutionary careers of the peerlessly great men and their exploits performed for the development of the youth movement.

Officials of the Party and power organs all over the country went to industrial establishments, farms, universities, construction sites, etc. to congratulate the youths.

They encouraged the young workers and students making innovation in production and construction and studying hard with the resolve to greet the Ninth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea with big achievements.

In Kangwon and North Hamgyong provinces, Nampho and Kaesong municipalities and other parts of the country, there were commemorative lectures and meetings to congratulate labour innovators.

Dancing parties and sports and amusement games of youth and students took place in South Phyongan, North Hwanghae, Jagang and South Hamgyong provinces and other parts of the country. -0-
