Pyongyang, June 2 (KCNA) -- The new regional-industry factories built in 40 cities and counties of the DPRK are striving to produce more specialties representing their regions, according to Rodong Sinmun.
The Songchon County Foodstuff Factory makes seven kinds of products, including chestnuts preserved in honey and chestnut jam, with Songchon chestnut abundant in the county. The Jangyon County Foodstuff Factory established a process of brewing beer as the county cultivates barley on a large scale.
The Paechon County Foodstuff Factory produces various kinds of bar rice cake with white rice, and the Hwangju County Foodstuff Factory makes apple and pear jams and bottled grape jam as its specialties.
The Sepho County Foodstuff Factory industrializes the production of radish pickled in rice bran and the Cholwon County Foodstuff Factory produces jelly with sweet potatoes.
Pumpkin seed oil and aralia shoots, bracken and other brined edible herbs produced by foodstuff factories in Kim Hyong Jik and Kim Jong Suk counties are popular among people.
The foodstuff factory in Sinpho City produces salted guts of Alaska Pollack and kelp tea and the foodstuff factories in Hamju, Kumya and Jongphyong counties various kinds of processed foods with marine products. The Onchon County Foodstuff Factory and the Yomju County Seafood Processing Factory produce dozens of kinds of products including dried shucked shellfish and razor clam flesh.
Daily necessities factories across the country are developing and producing special products by using the natural and geographical conditions of their region.
The garment factories set clothes suited to the natural and geographical conditions, weather conditions and tastes of inhabitants in relevant areas as their monopoly indices and are increasing the variety of clothes and improving their quality. -0-
