One day in December Juche 89 (2000), Chairman Kim Jong Il visited a newly-built syringe factory.

After going round various production lines at the factory, he looked at a needle, one of samples displayed in the atrium.

Then he said with a worried voice that the needle is a little big, so it may cause pain.

He told officials to first make fine needles so that patients could feel no pain when they are injected. And he stressed the need to find a good material for making needles.

The officials were deeply moved by what he said.

Before leaving the factory, he said that he would use syringes produced by it from now on. -0-
