Media Persons' Study Tour of Revolutionary Battle Sites in Mt Paektu Area

Pyongyang, March 9 (KCNA) -- A group of journalists and other media persons from across the DPRK made a study tour of revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu from March 2 to 8.

Its members toured the Rimyongsu Revolutionary Site, Chongbong Bivouac and other places, following the immortal footprints of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, the peerlessly great man who personally left at the historic places associated with the soul of the revolutionary forerunners.

Then they arrived at the historic birthplace of Chairman Kim Jong Il in the Paektusan Secret Camp, the sacred place of the revolution. At his old home, they recollected the sacred revolutionary career and immortal exploits of Kim Jong Il who devoted his all to the prosperity of the country and happiness of the people and made a ceaseless long journey of patriotic devotion all his life.

Making rounds of the site of campfire, slogan-bearing trees and others associated with the activities of forerunners, they deeply grasped the fighting spirit and traits of the anti-Japanese war guerrillas who devoted their youth and lives, registering the history of war victory on the glorious course under the leadership of President Kim Il Sung.

They accelerated the march with the song "We Will Go to Mt Paektu" and climbed Mt Paektu, the sacred mountain of the revolution.

They held an oath-taking meeting at the plaza in front of the statue of Kim Jong Il in Samjiyon City on March 8.

A reporter and speakers called upon all journalists and other media persons to fulfill their honorable mission and duty as standard-bearers and buglers on the ideological front of the Workers' Party of Korea in the grand struggle to achieve the great victory and glory of 2025 under the guidance of Kim Jong Un.

Then a letter of pledge was adopted.

During the study tour, the expedition members had such diverse events as a meeting to hear impressions of the reminiscences of anti-Japanese guerrillas, a question-and-answer study contest, and a quick-writing contest on the theme of education in the revolutionary traditions. -0-
