Chongdo Abrasion Cave - Natural Monument of DPRK

Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- The Chongdo abrasion cave, which is a natural monument of the DPRK, is situated on a hill about 30 meters away from the shore of waters off Hongwon, South Hamgyong Province, the DPRK.

The hill was an island close to the land. Its soft parts were cut and washed by abrasion. So, this cave came into being.

The half-moon-shaped cave is vertical on its front and rear sides. It is at least 10 meters long and its area of 20 square meters is filled with seawater.

The cave, a natural wonder, is of scientific significance. -0-
