Pyongyang, April 11 (KCNA) -- Kaesong Municipality of the DPRK concentrates efforts on strengthening the foundation of agricultural production by its own efforts.

The Kaesong Municipal Tractor Parts Factory provided a foundation for the growth of production both in quality and quantity by strengthening the ranks of technicians and skilled workers and successfully resolving the technological problems.

The Chaeryon Farm in Phanmun District, the Taedoksan Farm in Jangphung County and other farms are taking substantial measures to ensure that all sub-workteams manage fields in a responsible manner, while making sure that all workteams lay foundations for the production of nutritive cold-bed seedlings.

The farms in Kaephung and Phanmun districts have repaired the irrigation waterways meticulously and are carrying out the reconstruction and maintenance of the Hwanggangpho drainage lock gate and other irrigation facilities under a step-wise plan.

The municipal rural economy committee and the county and district agricultural management committees are taking timely measures to minimize the drought damage.

Officials are intensifying the organizational and political work to sufficiently ensure pumping machine power and irrigation water on the basis of generally inspecting the growth of wheat and barley in all fields and plots.

The farms in the municipality are concentrating their efforts and means on minimizing crop damage by preparing sprayers and making workteams apply agrochemicals and conduct watering in a planned way. -0-
