76th DPRK Birthday Celebrated

Pyongyang, September 10 (KCNA) -- All the people across the DPRK significantly celebrated the 76th birthday of the DPRK, the powerful and dignified motherland.

An endless stream of visitors flew into the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun where President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il lie in state.

Officials, working people, service personnel and schoolchildren visited the statues of the great leaders and mosaics depicting their images across the country including Mansu Hill to pay floral tribute to them.

Many citizens visited the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt Taesong, the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery in Sinmi-ri, the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery, cemeteries and graves of martyrs and the memorial towers for the fallen fighters of the Korean People's Army across the country, keeping in mind the noble spiritual world of the martyrs who devoted themselves to the country's independence and the victory of the socialist cause under the leadership of the great Workers' Party of Korea.

National flag-hoisting ceremonies took place across the country.

Colorful art performances were given in Pyongyang and local areas, adding to the joy of the holiday.

Cheerful dancing parties of young people and women's union members revved up the atmosphere of the national day.

Public service facilities in the capital city and other parts of the country were crowded with visitors.

Working people and schoolchildren enjoyed themselves at cultural recreation grounds in Pyongyang. -0-
