Efforts Boosted for Preventing Forest Fire in DPRK

Pyongyang, March 26 (KCNA) -- A mass campaign is being launched to prevent forest fire in different parts of the country.

The sections for preventing forest fire at all levels dispatch officials to the spot to grasp all the dangerous elements and takes measures to review the repair and installation of the firebreaks every week and, at the same time, concentrate efforts on making preparations for prompt counteraction in case of fire.

South Phyongan, North Hwanghae and Kangwon provinces and Nampho City established a forest-fire monitoring information service system in their cities and counties.

Pyongyang City is taking practical measures to prevent forest fire in keeping with spring weather conditions.

Officials and working people in Ryanggang Province have turned out as one in the work to prevent forest fire, regarding it as a primary requirement for forest conservation and management.

Rason City, too, pushes ahead with the work for preventing the forest fire in a planned way. -0-
