Pyongyang, November 4 (KCNA) -- The agricultural officials and workers and helpers are concentrating on harvesting and threshing.

As of November 3, rice harvesting across the country has been completed in the main and the transport of rice sheaves and threshing have been carried out at 80 percent and 70 percent respectively.

The Paechon, Jaeryong and Yonan counties in South Hwanghae Province are increasing the operating rate of combine rice harvesters, introducing working methods suited to the actual conditions, thus harvesting rice in the large areas every day.

South Phyongan Province completed the rice harvesting by distributing manpower and means to the plain areas.

The farms in Jungsan, Mundok and Phyongwon counties are taking measures to prevent the grain loss and ensuring the harvesting speed and quality by properly combining farm machines.

The cities of Sinuiju and Jongju and the counties of Kwaksan and Yomju in North Phyongan Province set up their plans for harvesting according to the characteristics of the fields and varieties and are making sure that the crop estimate becomes the actual yield.

Kumchon and Pongsan counties in North Hwanghae Province carried out the state plan for grain procurement by pushing ahead with the rice harvesting and threshing simultaneously.

The agricultural workers in Yonggwang, Sinhung and Hongwon counties of South Hamgyong Province are transporting the mowed rice plants in time to thresh them.

Officials, agricultural workers and helpers in Pyongyang Municipality and North Hamgyong Province are transporting rice sheaves and threshing at the final stage after finishing rice harvesting. -0-
