Pyongyang, April 20 (KCNA) -- The Sungjin Biological Technology Development Center of the Three-Revolution Exhibition House has developed and introduced a technology of breeding Rana ornativentris, drawing attention of many people, according to Rodong Sinmun.
The development center found frogs of good stock in Kaesong Municipality, North Hwanghae and Kangwon provinces and other areas and succeeded in completing the low-cost, semi-artificial breeding method of Korean-style based on advanced science and technology.
In recent years, it has released more than 3 million young frogs into forests of various regions and around revolutionary sites. As a result, damage caused by harmful insects in forests including pine caterpillar has been considerably reduced.
It introduced the semi-artificial breeding method into the forests of 14 regions and units and built a base for annually producing 3 million young frogs.
It is also developing various kinds of health foods and cosmetics with Rana ornativentris.
It is taking a practical step to help the cities and counties with forests breed Rana ornativentris by themselves. -0-
