Aid to Educational Sector in South Phyongan Province

Pyongyang, April 8 (KCNA) -- In hearty response to the Workers' Party of Korea's idea of attaching importance to education, enthusiasm for supporting the educational sector is growing stronger in South Phyongan Province of the DPRK.

On display at an educational aids exhibition held at Phyongsong University of Medicine were thousands of various electronic equipment, experimental apparatuses and furnishings of 20-odd kinds provided by scores of sponsoring organizations.

The Namhung Youth Chemical Complex sent computers and LCD TVs to Sunchon Ri Su Bok University of Chemical Engineering and Anju University of Technology.

Officials and other working people of many sponsoring organizations have donated educational facilities and fixtures and repair materials to teacher training universities and colleges.

Officials of the Kaechon Area Coal-mining Complex, the Anju Area Coal-mining Complex, the Sunchon Cement Complex and the provincial rural economy committee set an example in strengthening the educational foundation of Phyongsong University of Coal Mining and in providing necessary equipment and materials for remodeling and modernizing Phyongsong University of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry and Sukchon University of Agriculture.

The Ponghak Foodstuff Factory, the February 8 Jikdong Youth Coal Mine, the Pukchang Thermal Power Complex, the Sunchon Chemical Complex, the provincial forestry management bureau, the provincial fishery management bureau, etc. sent a lot of equipment and materials to universities and schools, thus contributing to consolidating the material and technical foundations of the educational sector. -0-
