Pyongyang, January 31 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Friday dedicates an article to the 75th establishment anniversary of diplomatic relations between the DPRK and Vietnam.

The article says that the establishment of diplomatic relations between the DPRK and Vietnam was a reflection of the strong desire of the peoples of the two countries to strengthen the bonds of friendship and unity and develop the cooperative relations in the joint struggle against imperialism and for independence and socialism.

The two peoples have steadily strengthened the ties of friendship, supporting and cooperating with each other in various fields, including politics, economy and culture, for the past 75 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the article says, and goes on:

The friendship between the DPRK and Vietnam, socialist states in Asia, is the precious one provided by President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il together with the preceding leaders of Vietnam.

The traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, which were forged in the common struggle for socialism and consolidated despite the challenges and trials of history, were developed into a new higher stage thanks to the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un's historic official goodwill visit to Vietnam in March 2019.

Over the past six years, the strategic communication between the two sides has been strengthened unprecedentedly and the feelings of friendship between the peoples of the two countries have deepened day by day. Both sides have developed the bilateral relations comprehensively in various fields including politics, economy and culture while strengthening the mutual support and cooperation in conformity with common interests. Visits, contacts and exchanges between the two countries have been brisk.

Today the Vietnamese people are defending and advancing socialism chosen by themselves under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

It is the common aspiration and will of the peoples of the two countries to develop the friendly and cooperative relations between the DPRK and Vietnam century after century.

It is the fixed stand of the DPRK government to further develop the 75-year-long friendly and cooperative relations with Vietnam in conformity with socialism and the common interests of the two peoples on the occasion of the year 2025 of friendship. -0-
