Pyongyang, May 11 (KCNA) -- The custom for utilizing matrimony vine fruits in the area of Kyongsong was registered as the local intangible cultural heritage of the DPRK in 2025.

From long ago, inhabitants in the Sungam area of Kyongsong County, North Hamgyong Province, the original place of matrimony vine in the DPRK, have hedged their houses with matrimony vines to use their fruits for diet or medical care.

Matrimony vine fruits there are in high demand among the people because of their high medicinal value.

The county is increasing their products in conformity with the characteristics of the area most suitable for the cultivation and growth of matrimony vine.

The Kyongsong County Foodstuff Factory has produced various kinds of products with matrimony vine fruits.

Those products were highly favored by visitors at a show of products of newly-built regional-industry factories in 20 cities and counties and the light industrial goods exhibition "Development of Light Industry-2025" held last year. -0-
