Pyongyang, April 6 (KCNA) -- Farms across the DPRK are concentrating efforts on manuring the wheat and barley fields.

Agricultural workers in Songnim City and Yonsan and Yonthan counties of North Hwanghae Province have applied phytosin and other nutrients to improving the crops' resistance to drought.

Unchon, Songhwa and Anak counties in South Hwanghae Province have striven to increase the water resources while preparing enough spare parts to ensure the full-capacity operation of vehicles and mobile irrigation equipment.

Farms in Onchon County and Waudo and Kangso districts of Nampho Municipality have actively applied rational irrigation methods, including furrow irrigation and sprinkler-based irrigation, taking into account the topographical and soil conditions of fields and the growth of crops.

Agricultural workers in North and South Phyongan provinces are focusing on manuring the wheat and barley fields to increase the yields to the maximum. -0-
