Pyongyang, April 8 (KCNA) -- Enlarged plenary meetings of the Party committees of the Ministry of Railways, the Ministry of Land and Maritime Transport, the Pyongyang Construction Commission, the State Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports were held to implement the important tasks set forth in the historic policy speech the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un made at the First Session of the 15th Supreme People's Assembly.

Present at the plenary meetings were members and alternate members of the relevant Party committees and, as observers, officials concerned.

The meetings had in-depth discussions on the draft decisions dealing with the measures for successfully attaining the fighting goals of their sectors and units while invariably holding fast to the three revolutions - ideological, technological and cultural - as the general line of socialist construction.

The plenary meeting of the Party committee of the Ministry of Railways stressed the need to conduct the Three-Revolution Red Flag Movement and other revolutionary mass movements and the socialist patriotic movement in a more substantial way, with the main emphasis put on ensuring the safety, promptness and smoothness of railway transport by strengthening the material and technical foundations.

The plenary meeting of the Party committee of the Ministry of Land and Maritime Transport discussed the ways to timely carry the materials needed for the economic development and grand construction sites in a responsible manner by stepping up the construction and modernization of new and existing harbors, wharves, etc. and improving the transport capacity.

The plenary meeting of the Party committee of the Pyongyang Construction Commission discussed the issue of boosting the production potential and consistently promoting the domestic production of building materials and the issue of improving the quality and stability of structures by expanding the ranks of skilled workers and increasing the proportion of mechanized work.

The plenary meeting of the Party committee of the State Academy of Sciences discussed the issue of perfectly resolving the urgent problems arising in self-supporting economic construction and improvement of the people's living standards by boosting the enthusiasm for competition among scientists and technicians and the issue of directing efforts to developing the latest science and technology.

The plenary meeting of the Party committee of the Ministry of Culture dealt with the measures to launch creation activities in a revolutionary way to produce new, unique, appealing and influential literary and art works, thus arousing the Party members and other working people to implement the Party's decisions and making the socialist way of life and sound moral life pervade the whole society.

The plenary meeting of the Party committee of the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports called for rapidly raising the professional sports techniques to win victory in international games and steadily updating the level of sports science and education and briskly conducting the mass sports activities.
