Pyongyang, January 31 (KCNA) -- It has been 45 years since the inauguration of the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital in the DPRK.

In the period, the hospital has helped many women to give birth to children safely, including more than 790 triplets and quadruplets, and turned into a comprehensive medical service center for women and a scientific research base equipped with modern medical facilities.

Chairman Kim Jong Il, who took a measure to build the hospital into the best one in the world, sent a letter of thanks to its health workers on January 31, 1990 in high appreciation of the achievements made by them in medical service for nearly 10 years after its opening.

He gave instructions for the development of the hospital in even in the last moments of his revolutionary life.

His great loving care for the women is being carried forward by the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un.

The General Secretary repeatedly bestowed favors on the pregnant women with many children and women delivered of children to ensure that they enjoy better benefits from the state and led the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital to play its role as a medical service center for women.

The hospital has a new and modern medical service base capable of preventing and treating breast diseases and conducting scientific research on them. This base is also associated with the efforts and devotion of the General Secretary for the women. -0-
