Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- The DPRK people are significantly celebrating the 77th Day of Army Founding.

The founding of the Korean People's Army, the regular revolutionary armed forces, on February 8, 1948 was a historic event of epochal significance in building the armed forces of the Republic and accomplishing the cause of Juche.

The path covered by the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK, cherishing their inherent mission from the early days of their founding, is shining as a proud course of frustrating the imperialists' aggression moves and resolutely defending the destiny of the country and its people.

Under the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung, the KPA repelled the invasion by the U.S. imperialists who boasted of being the "strongest" in the world and brought about a miracle of victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.

Even in the showdown with the imperialist aggression forces, the KPA has fully glorified the dignity of the DPRK, as a standard-bearer and strong fulcrum of defending socialism and revolution.

Under the guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, the KPA is now demonstrating its might as an invincible revolutionary army reliably defending the security of the country and its people and the prosperity of posterity with its strongest military muscle.

The KPA, the invincible militant ranks with the Juche-based military strategy and tactics, heroic fighting spirit and perfect capability for actual war, is further consolidating its militant might to annihilate any formidable enemy at a single blow.

It has performed miracles and feats not only as the driving force of national defence but also as the creator of the people's happiness and pioneer of civilization in socialist construction theaters.

Many monumental edifices built in different parts of the country including magnificent streets of the capital city, large-scale greenhouse farms and modern regional-industry factories are associated with the efforts of the service personnel.

It is a great pride of the DPRK and its people to have the elite revolutionary armed forces which are armed with the revolutionary idea of the Workers' Party of Korea, are boundlessly loyal to the country and people and have the tremendous might to cope with any modern warfare. -0-
